Open a PayPal Account

To start sending and receiving online payments the fast, easy and safe way, you'll need to sign up for a PayPal account.

To begin this three-step process go to paypal and click Sign Up.

Step 1

Select the type of account you want and the country or region in which you live.

If you're a buyer, choose a Personal account. It's free to send payments. If you're a seller, choose a Premier account. This enables you to receive debit and credit card payments for a small fee.If you're a registered business and have a business bank account, choose a Business account. It's similar to a Premier account but offers additional benefits.

Step 2

1. Enter your personal details.

2. Provide a valid email address and password. This is important as this is the email address you will use to send and receive payments. Please make your password unique, and don't use the same password for PayPal as you do for other websites. Next, complete the security questions. If you loose your password, these questions will help us to confirm your identity, so please enter answers that are memorable to you.

3. Please read PayPal's User Agreement and Privacy Policy, before selecting 'yes' to indicate that you have read and agree to agree by these policies. This section must be completed to sign up for PayPal.

4. Complete the security section of the registration form by copying the letters and numbers you see into the blank box. This helps PayPal prevent automated registrations and increases the security of its network. PayPal will provide you with details on how to confirm your email address in order to complete registration. 

Step 3

To confirm your registration, PayPal will send an email to the email address you provided in Step 1 with the subject line: Activate your PayPal Account. Click the link in the email and you will be taken automatically to a page that prompts you to enter your PayPal password to confirm that you are the owner of the email.

Once your email address is confirmed, your PayPal account is open and you're ready to start sending and receiving online payments with PayPal. Remember, in order to start paying for items using your PayPal account you need to register debit card or credit card details as a means of funding your transactions.
